Module 2: Online Safety through the Lens of Technology

Module Overview:
In this module, we will begin developing our holistic approach to online safety by focusing on the lens of technology. To do this, we will start by reminding ourselves of the basic best practices we should follow during our daily online activities. Then, we will dissect some of the most common misconceptions that we tend to have about our online safety. Finally, we will learn more about some of the most common types of online scams.

Each topic is addressed in the form of an article. For each article, there is also an accompanying infographic which summarises the key points that have been covered.
Module Learning Objectives:
In this module, we will aim to:
- Develop our holistic approach to online safety by focusing on the lens of technology;
- Recall the basic best practices for improving our online safety;
- Evaluate common misconceptions about the nature of online scams, including their perpetrators, use of technology and targets; and
- Identify the most common types of online scams and how they work.
